Notice
As of October 20, 2024, New York State General Business Law section 519a requires healthcare providers to advise patients that they waive certain rights afforded to medical debt if balances are paid by credit card. Under Federal and State laws medical debt is protected against standard debt collection practices, high interest rates, and wage garnishment. If paid by credit card, your medical debt is converted to credit card debt and no longer protected. You may continue to protect medical debt under the provisions of the law by using an HSA (Health Savings Account) debit card, check or cash, check, or cash to make payments.
